What is pre-marital counseling?

Pre-marital counseling is a specialized type of therapy designed for engaged couples or those who are in a serious, committed relationship. Sessions will explore relationship expectations, strength areas, and opportunities for growth. You will build communication skills, make new discoveries, plan for the future, and safely address issues. Investing in pre-marital counseling will also provide a future resource when things get tough or you'd like a tune-up.

Pre-marital work can be vulnerable.

I respect that pre-marital work is vulnerable! Research indicates that the health of a relationship is not based on a couple's ability to remain conflict-free but rather on how the couple navigates and repairs from conflict itself. Marriage and Family Therapists (MFTs) are experts in this area and are specifically trained in helping couples reach optimal health in their relationship at every age and stage. I am humbled and honored to be part of your process.

My grandparents paid for pre-marital counseling as our wedding gift! It really meant a lot that they wanted to support the health and longevity of our marriage.

A healthy relationship is a feast of affection and giving for both people; not one receiving crumbs and trying to convince themselves it's enough.
